As we all know Mother's Day is tomorrow and although every mom (or motherly figure) deserves special treatment everyday for their unconditional love towards us, tomorrow is a day that should be dedicated to reassuring them that we truly care and appreciate their continuous love, support and hard work to make our lives easier...because let's be honest, where would we be without them?
What do you get someone who has given you everything? That's a tough one but if you haven't planned anything as of yet (tsk tsk), here's a start with some last minute gift ideas to help make the day extra special for the moms out there.
(1) Flowers - Present your mom with a floral arrangement because what woman doesn't like receiving flowers? Don't worry about the markets being sold out, they're prepared for the last minute crowd!
(2) Breakfast in bed - Today's the one day a year you must wake up before your mom. She's been doing it your entire life preparing you for school, first day of college, first day of work (etc. ) and she deserves a break. Make her favourite breakfast and try not to wreck the kitchen!
(4) Fragrance Set - This perfume sampler from Shoppers Drug Mart is the perfect gift for your mom. Not only does she get a variety of sample scents to try out, included is also a voucher for a regular sized bottle once she's selected her favourite scent. Just remember to be a darling and offer to redeem the voucher once she's selected her favourite.
(6) Tea - Tea is an alternative gift idea to the annual "Best Mom Ever" mug. After 20 mugs she probably has enough so head over to Teavana or Davids Tea and get her favourite tea flavours.
Mother's Day DONTs> Gift cards are an absolute NO. Nothing says you couldn't care less than swiping on a couple of $$ and presenting a plastic card. Remember: not all gifts have to have monetary value, it's the thought that counts!
> Don't take your mom out to a fancy restaurant if you can't pay for it! An alternative would be to host a dinner, set the table and prepare her favourite meal.
> A greeting card in the mail is not enough. If you can't be with mom tomorrow, a phone or Skype call is the least that you can do.
Just remember, it's the thought that counts. In the end, what matters most is that you show your mom how truly thankful and appreciative you are! It doesn't matter what you shower them with, they'll recognize a genuine gesture when they see it!
Hope this helps!
