On the Go with Nike

I recently got my hands on a pair of Nike Roshe Two's and haven't taken them off since. They're incredibly comfortable and perfect for those days when you're constantly up and on the go, especially during holiday season!

Pointed Toe Perfection

Love at first sight. I've never owned anything like them. They're pointed-toe perfection.

My obsession over these leather gems began the moment they caught my eye at Winners. I didn't recognize the designer, nor had I ever seen anything like them. They're made by Italian designer, Capezzani, and judging by the price ($$$), I assumed they were either (1) made by a well renowned designer that I apparently have never heard of, or (2) made with some damn good leather. It was the latter.

The Uniform

The all black uniform featuring the most comfortable pair of Jeffrey Campbell over-the-knee boots I picked up from at the Nordstrom Yorkdale opening event last month!

Fall Florals

Loving Fall florals.
Do you ever have one of those days where you can just open your closet, scan your wardrobe, mentally produce an outfit, and it happens to fit just as you imagined? Today was one of those days. Don't get me wrong, it's a rare occurrence, an anomaly if you will; but it's a satisfying feeling not having to deconstruct my wardrobe and then spend hours organizing every time I get dressed.

Grey Scale

I've been warming up to the idea of working with sunlight in my style shoots. For the larger portion of my blogging career, I firmly opposed direct sunlight and shadows. I'd have to strategically schedule shoots according to time of day and location. While these are still major factors to consider for a successful shoot, I've learned to work with natural lighting, as it's not exactly something that you can control. The results have been largely positive, and I've found the shots to be more natural and vibrant! What do you think?

Mimosas and Manis @ Her Majesty's Pleasure

What better way to spend your mornings than getting pampered and sipping mocktails while doing it. I had the opportunity to experience a gel mani and blow out at Her Majesty's Pleasure and was raving about it for days, trust me, my friends can attest to that... I'm typically a nude-nail-for-all-occasions type of gal, but couldn't pass on the opporunity for a little nail-art action from one of the top nail salons in Toronto. I may or may not have just made up a stat, but they do have an in-house bar serving drinks and lattes during all hours of operation so I'm sure we can all agree that its ranked way up there.

Red Trousers

Wearing a fair amount of colour today to prove to you all that my wardrobe consists of more than just black bottoms.  On another note, loose pants are perfect for hiding an inevitable food baby resulting from all-you-can-eat sushi dates, pictured below, but not seen, hehe.

Leather Weather

Excited to finally wear leather and not be looked at like I'm out of my mind. To be fair, I pulled out the leather jacket far before it was probably socially acceptable and weather approperiate.

Something Brown

Surprisingly enough, this is the first piece of brown clothing that I've owned since I've started shopping for myself, I believe (circa 2006). Ever since exploring the world of fashion and style, I've always been led to believe that mixing black and brown was a huge faux pas. I remember reading magazines that would criticize "worst dressed celebrities" for mixing black and brown. The outfits were of course much more extravagant than a simple sweater and denim combo, but the color palette was a topic of discussion nevertheless.

Nordstrom Opening Gala

I had the most amazing time at the much anticipated Nordstrom opening gala last night!

Green with Envy

Green with envy...envious of everyone with tickets to see Tor Miller in Toronto next week. I just realized I'll be out of the country and can no longer attend. On the bright side, I'm headed to NYC for the first time!

Nordstrom Preview

Nordstrom is coming to Toronto! If you've been by the Eaton Centre, or anywhere in Toronto for that matter, you're probably well aware of the Nordstrom opening this month. I got the chance to preview the store last night and it is quite possibly the closest thing imaginable to heaven. Just kidding. But it was a dream.

Dessert Daze

We patiently waited outside of the restaurant for it to open so I could get these shots before customers arrived. I have no shame in admitting that, haha. Oh the things we do for Instagram...
P.s. We intended to have dinner but only ended up getting dessert. Was it the responsible choice? Nope. Do I regret it? Not one bit!

On the Bright Side

So today I had a vision in mind for a photoshoot against a white wall and imagined how the photos would turn out based on what I remembered about the location. Arriving to this spot in Yorkville, everything looked great, there was little pedestrian traffic but something I forgot to consider was the lighting. One of the most important factors in best capturing your outfit is lighting, and lighting was defiantly not in my favour today. So here are some poorly lit photos of a casual outfit I wore, out and about in the city. On the bright side (pun intended), sweater weather is upon us so I celebrated with this new addition from H&M. Oh so cozy!!
'Till next time!

Aritzia x Adidas

Three stripes and you're out!
Good morning guys, I'm loving the classic Adidas Superstars that I picked up from Aritzia. They're so easy to slip on with any outfit, and can be styled with practically anything.
P.s. How cute are these dainty bracelets from COS? The marble one is to die for!

Neutral Tones

Wearing Aritzia from head to toe to celebrate the grand opening of their new boutique in Yorkdale Mall. If there's one store that gets minimalism, quality, and a budget, it's Aritzia. I managed to get this entire look for under $320. I must admit, it's not a total steal, but when you consider the quality and tailored feel of the clothing, spending a little extra $$ goes a long way.

A Guide to Perfecting the Top-Knot

The half-up top-knot has been my go-to this summer, especially since we're caught in a heatwave with high levels of humidity and zero chance of preventing frizz. Achieving this top-knot bun involves a lot of trial and error, especially depending on the state of your hair (curls, frizz, etc). Here are a few tips that will help you tame the mane and sport the hairstyle everyone's rocking this Summer.

Black from Head to Toe

Out and about in black from head to toe despite better judgement to stay in door during this heatwave.

Out & About

Out and about in a Bench bomber (jacket) as I scout out condos in the city. Finding a new place to live is both exciting and nerve wracking because not only do I have to commit to a location and neighborhood for the next twelve months, but it'll be the place I'll soon call 'home.'

Old Montreal

Exploring the street of Old Montreal in Zara from head-to-toe (minus the sneakers). P.s. I just got a pair of Nike Roshe and currently wondering why I didn't own a pair sooner. It was probably because my sister is constantly expressing her hatred for the "socks" on my feet but they're honestly the most comfortable shoes I own, sorry sis!

Les Rues de Montréal

The streets of Montreal are so picturesque, it made shooting outfits almost effortless. I still however, had to endure the awkwardness of passersby shooting judgemental looks and staring for a few too many seconds for comfort, I guess it comes with the job.

Hike to Dundas Peak

A few weeks ago, I embarked on the most exhilarating and petrifying hike of my life...and I would do it all over again. Now I don't mean to be melodramatic, the hike consisted of trails with safety meaures in place, so you would be completely safe... if you're a rational human who obeyed signs that read something along the lines of "do not enter," "this is not a trail," "turn back now if you have even an ounce of will to live." Something along those lines. We obviously weren't phased, which leads me to my near death experience I'm about to share with you.
It was a warm Monday morning and my sisters and I headed to Hamilton to hike the trails leading up to Dundas peak (the highest point of the trail), for the cardio and more importantly, infamous "living on the edge" pic. We parked the car and headed up the trail. After roughly thirty minutes, we reached the Peak and snapped these gorgeous shots because, "pics or it didn't happen" right? The view was absolutely breath taking. We headed down the trail and made our way over to Webster Falls. The only issue with our plan was that there was in fact no trail, and for good reason we later discovered (the unconventional way). We scouted the grounds for a while searching for the illegitimate trail supposedly created by delinquents time after time, going off trail to discover the beauty of Webster Falls up close and personal. We wanted in.

Living on the edge indeed.

Beach Days

Top + shorts from Forever 21

Beach days and a little vitamin D are necessary to cure the blues caused by exhaustions and overworking yourself, especially if you don't often get the chance to enjoy the warm weather. Make time for yourself and soak up the sun while you can...and just incase you haven't been taking advantage of this heat wave we've been experiencing in Toronto, I have one word for you...w i n t e r.

In the Vines

Discovering gorgeous spots on campus that I never noticed during the chaotic years as a university student rushing across campus from one lecture to another in under ten minutes, whilst trying not to break a sweat.

Spa Day at Elmwood Spa

Good afternoon everyone :)

Yesterday I was treated to a much needed spa day courtesy of Elmwood Spa. We were pampered with mani and pedis and I can honestly say that it was the best spa experience I've had to this day. Everyone was professional and sweet and the service was completely up to standard....and you know your girl doesn't settle for anything less than perfection.

The Asymmetrical Bardot Top

Adding a l̶i̶t̶t̶l̶e a lot of frill to my wardrobe this summer. Zara has been my go to for bardot and off-the-shoulder tops. They're simple yet chic and can so easily be dressed up or down with a trouser and heel combo, or alternatively, jeans and sneakers. How would you wear bardot tops?

Digital Dreams: Festival Photo Diary

(Outfit for Day 1)

This past weekend I attended my first festival ever, thanks to @BreezerCanada!! Thanks for sending me to Digital Dreams and for an unforgettable experience. Prior to the festival I had absolutely no clue what to expect. I have friends who have gone and while I was familiar with some of the artists, I clearly did not get the memo that this was a rave when I was frantically putting together cute outfits that were comfortable yet picturesque. For anyone who hasn't been to the this festival, Digital Dreams is much more of a rave scene than a festival (i.e. Coachella). Here are my looks for Day 1 and 2 and some random snaps from the festival.

Nordstrom's Pre-Opening Gala

I had the most wonderful time at the Nordstrom pre-opening gala yesterday evening. It was THE garden party of all garden parties. From live music to a pool full of mermaids, Nordstrom sure knows how to throw a party!! Oh, and not to forget the most extravagant dessert table, which I basically spent my entire night no further than two metres away. It's going to be tough to top my summer after that experience.

Black, White and Red all Over

Living in sneakers this Summer as I run away from my problems and in to every dessert shop I pass along the way.

GRADUATION DAY!!

Happy Friday everyone,
Today I graduated from the University of Toronto!! I am truly grateful to be able to experience everything I did during my undergrad years and take none of this for granted. While times can be tough at UofT and we may not get the grades we hoped for, let's not forget that attending one of the top universities in the country is a privilege and a huge accomplishment to begin with. Thank you to my family and friends whom supported me throughout my education, and congratulations to everyone that graduated along side myself, we made it!!

Ice-cream Breaks on Main Street

The best ice-ceam comes from little mom and pop shops, I promise. I used to be a huge ice-cream person, until I discovered fro-yo, but this cookies-and-cream got me feelin' all types of ways.

The Satin Bomber

I didn't know what love at first sight was until I came across these white Nike Thea's. They're my casual go-to's...which also means they're no longer white, haha.

WHAT I'M WEARING
Topshop bomber jacket
Citizens of Humanity jeans
Nike Air Max Thea
