Happy Air Max Day!

Happy Air Max Day everyone!
I've been looking for Air Max Thea's in beige, khaki, and grey with absolutely no luck whatsoever. A major downside to living in Canada is not being able to purchase all of the trendy things that don't ship to the Great White North...because?? I honestly do not know. I would be lying if I said I wasn't considering moving to the States for the sole purpose of gaining access to the vast amounts of unaccessible products.
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the classic black but those three colours would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe. If anyone knows where I can find them, PLEASE let me know :)

Monday Blues

Random fact about me: When distressed denim started to become a thing, I absolutely despised the trend and thought it was the tackiest thing since studded sneakers. Over time, I've warmed up to it and have fun putting together edgy or casual outfits (like the one above). But I think I draw a very clear and distinct line between distressed denim and [overly torn, drenched-in-acid, run-over-by-a-car-multiple-times denim]. That, I do not stand for.

Post Your Toast

In an effort to get fit during the chaotic months before Summer arrives, I have decided to make changes to my eating habits and focus on clean eating rather than starving myself...because lets be serious, that never really works. I know people try to cut certain food out of their diet all together but I've decided that limited and portions and less processed food is a more suitable choice for myself. I've been having a lot of fun with toast and trying out different combination for breakfast and to snack on in between meals.

Here are just a few combinations that I've tried on toasted rye.

- strawberries, whipped cream cheese -
- sliced pear, low-fat peanut butter - cinnamon sugar -
- blueberries, whipped cream cheese -
- banana slices, low-fat peanut butter, cinnamon sugar -
- sliced cucumber, whipped cream cheese, freshly cracked black pepper -
- honey toasted oats, walnuts, low-fat peanut butter -

Share your toast with me @sarahmian :)

Current Favourite Lipstick: YSL Satin Lips

- photos via instagram @sarahmian -

When I started blogging, I would experiment with tons of lip shades and different makeup looks to make each outfit look distinct. It just so happens that it was also around the time that I actually started wearing makeup. Before blogging and discovering the plethora of beauty products, looks, and techniques, I would stick to my mascara and concealer...yeah I know, what a beauty routine eh, haha. However, after posting a few looks,  I felt like I couldn't just look "plain," because everyone was all about the winged liner and dramatic pout.
Years later, I've found what I'm comfortable with and although I change it up a little, I tend to stick to my basics. One of which is the blush/rose lip. It is definitely my go-to.

My current favourite is the YSL satin lipstick in Rose Bergamasque

Olive Suede

Olive suede, I really do. Let's talk about the suede trend that I'm currently obsessing over. I could literally wear everything and anything suede. I mean suede heels, suede tops, thigh-highs, skirts, and of course this blazer courtesy of Lulu*s. The belt also doubles as a choker, or at least it does now....haha what are your thoughts?

Warm and Cozy

Good morning lovelies,

As we finally start to experience a true Canadian winter, staying warm and cozy indoors is my main priority. So with absolutely no chance that I was headed out the front door this morning, I decided to give my Oatbox mixes a try. I had a -banana, walnut & almond- mix for breakfast, over a bowl of low-fat vanilla yogurt, fresh blueberries and raw almonds.
There's something about a crisp winter that triggers healthy eating for me. While the icy, cold, and slush induced chaos we call the streets of Toronto may make it so much easier to pick up the phone and order take-out, trying something healthy and light might brighten up your day. These oats are a perfect way to start your day on a positive note, as they're packed with flavour and energy to get you through the winter? Ice Age? haha, accurate enough...

I highly recommend giving Oatbox a try!

(p.s. these are my authentic words, this is not a sponsored post...I just seriously love these oats haha)

Love,
Sarah
